Chunlei Guo    Lab Director / Ph. D. / Professor

    Prof. Guo's research interests focus on laser-matter interactions at high intensities, nano-photonics, femtosecond laser surface nano and microstructuring, and surface plasmonics. He and his coworkers invented the so called black and colored metals, which have a broad range of technological applications and have been covered extensively by the media. He is an elected Fellow for American Physical Society, Optical Society of America, and international Academy of Photonics & Laser Engineering. He serves as an Editor and on editorial boards for a number of scientific journals and is the past Chair of Short-Wavelength and High-Field Physics Group in the Optical Society of America. Yuhong Bai    Asso. Lab Director / Ph. D. / Professor

    Prof. Bai is the director of Light Center of CIOMP and the managing director of journals “Light: Science & Applications” and “Optics and Precision Engineering”. She devotes to develop and lead the idea of the internationalization of the journals. The “Light: Science & Applications” was an international optics journal, launched in 2012 cooperating with Nature Publisher. Jianjun Yang    Ph. D. / Professor   

    Prof. Yang's researches are focusing on the femtosecond laser-matter interactions, including femtosecond laser technology, ultrafast process probe, and high-precision ablation of materials. Currently, he is interested in several research areas, such as femtosecond laser micro/nano-fabrication of metals, ultrafast response of nano-optoelectric materials, and ultrafast magneto-optical phenomena, which are promising in developing a rapid flexible nanofabrication system by femtosecond lasers, and exploring a new design of micro/nano-structures and functional devices, and their potential applications. E-mail: jjyang@ciomp.ac.cn

Rashid Ashirovich Ganeev    Ph. D. / Professor

    Prof. Ganeev has established the network on plasma harmonic studies in the XUV range with numerous scientists in Japan, India, Canada, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russia, Germany, United Kingdom, Malaysia, Italy, Spain, etc. He has published five monographs based on the studies of the high-order nonlinear optical properties of various materials in the XUV range. He is the first co-author of most of his 330 publications in peer-reviewed journals. His h-index is 35. He has obtained numerous international grants allowing him carrying out the studies in the leading laboratories worldwide. In 2002, the International Commission for Optics awarded him the ICO Galileo Galilei Award and Medal for the contribution in the nonlinear optics. Subhash Chandra Singh    Ph. D. / Associate Professor

    Dr. Subhash C. Singh is currently Associate Professor in Guo's Photonics Laboratory at CIOMP and Visiting Postdoctoral Research Associate at The Institute of Optics, University of Rochester, New York. Prior to joining Guo's research group Dr. Singh was IRCSET-EMPOWER Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Dublin City University, Ireland for two years and DST-SERB Young Scientist  at University of Allahabad, India for three years. Dr. Singh has more than seven years of postdoctoral research experience  in the field of laser-matter interaction, plasma and nanomaterial processing, and spectroscopy of atoms and molecules . He has published more than 50 research articles in high impact factor refereed journals and conference proceedings. His current research interest includes laser-matter interaction, strong field multi-photon ionization, plasmonic, photonics and energy harvesting devices. Taek Young Hwang    Ph.D. /  Associate Professor

    Dr. Hwang’s research interests focus on Femtosecond laser-induced surface nanostructures on metals and semiconductors; Ultrafast electron and lattice dynamics of nanoscale structures; Surface plasmon enhanced phenomena; Ultrafast dynamics of low dimensional semiconductor/metal structures; Scanning Ultrafast Electron Microscopy; Amplified Ti:sapphire femsecond laser system;  Laser-plasma interactions; Heat transfer in nanoscale metallic structures; Ultrafast spectroscopy in the nanoscale as well as Fabrication of solar absorber surfaces.

Amer Kotb    Ph.D. / Associate Professor

    Amer Kotb has obtained the PhD and the MSc in Electronics in 2012 and 2006, respectively. His PhD researches are carried out at the Connecticut University, Connecticut, USA. He is currently an Associate Professor of Electronics in the Department of Physics, Fayoum University, Egypt. He worked as a visiting professor in many countries. He is the first and the corresponding author of more than 30 international journal papers as well as two books. He serves as a reviewer and an editorial member for a number of scientific journals. His current research activities are the investigation of photonic crystal quantum dot (QD) SOAs, reflective SOAs, and Graphene SOAs at high data rates. E-mail: amer@ciomp.ac.cn

Jinluo Cheng   Ph. D. / Associate Professor

    Dr. Cheng’s research interests focus on theoretical investigation on physical properties of semiconductors, metals, and 2D materials, including band structure, optical nonlinearities, optical injection and coherent control, spin dephasing and transport,  and the first principle calculation;  the 1D photonic crystal and the optics in 2D materials. Weili Yu    Ph. D. / Associate Professor

    Dr. Yu is interested in functional nanomaterials researches (including polymer, nanocrystal, metal oxide, carbon materials, and 2D materials, etc.) and is dedicated to studying the optics, semiconductor physics and chemistry of materials for light energy related applications, e.g. photovoltaics, photocatalysis, photodetectors, etc. Currently, he is focusing on synthesis, assembly and application of novel semiconductor materials (such as nanoparticles and perovskites) which are promising as future building-blocks for solar cells, photonic and optoelectronic devices. John E. Sipe   Visiting Professor

     John E. Sipe is a Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Toronto, where he received his Ph.D. He is a theorist who works on problems in optical and condensed matter physics. His current research focuses on optical properties of ring resonators and other artificially structured materials, and their use in quantum and nonlinear optics; coherent control and transport of carriers, spins, currents, and spin currents in bulk and nanostructure semiconductors; application of structures with optical resonances to problems in biosensing; the calculation of linear and nonlinear optical properties of novel materials; foundational problems in quantum mechanics. He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society, the Optical Society of America, and the Royal Society of Canada.

Anton V. Malko    Visiting Associated Professor

     Prof. Malko obtained a BS degree in physics and applied math from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Russia in 1998, and a PhD in Physics/EE from New Mexico State University/Los Alamos National Laboratory, USA in 2002. He is an Associate Professor at the University of Texas at Dallas in Physics and Materials Science where he is the head of the optics and ultrafast spectroscopy laboratory. Prof. Malko’s research interests encompass areas of ultrafast laser spectroscopy, optical properties of quantum and low-dimensional nanostructures, semiconductor devices, energy and charge transfer on the nanoscale, single photon spectroscopy, non-linear optics, optical limiting devices, nanooptics and solid state physics.

Dmitry Ivanov    Visiting Professor

     Prof. Dmitry Ivanov was graduated from Physico-Technical Department of Saint-Petersburg State Technical University (Politech) in 1997 with specialization of Space Research. In 2004 he obtained his PhD degree in University of Virginia (USA) in theoretical investigation of ultrashort laser pulse melting of metals.  At the present he works as a visiting Professor at the Guo China-US Photonics Lab, CIOMP (Changchun, China) providing a theoretical support of the experiments on nanostructuring of materials. Also, he is a co-chief of the International Laboratory of “Laser Micro- and Nanotechnologies” at Saint-Petersburg ITMO University (Russia) and senior research scientist at University of Kassel and Technical University of Kaiserslautern (Germany). His scientific research interest covers modelling of short laser pulse melting, spallation, ablation processes as well as laser-induced nanostructuring of metal, semiconductor, and dielectric surfaces. His research method is based on Molecular Dynamics and accounts on non-equilibrium kinetics of laser-induced phase transitions at atomic level and the effects of laser-exited free carriers in continuum. The developed method has been serving as powerful numerical tool in development of the materials surfaces with predesigned topological, morphological, and optical properties.

Feng Chen    Distinguished Visiting Professor

     Feng Chen is a full professor of Xi'an Jiaotong University, where he directs the Femtosecond Laser Laboratory and has severed as deputy director of the International Joint Research Lab for Micro/Nano Manufacturing and Measurement Technologies, Ministry of Education. He had been a full Professor of Electronics Engineering at Xian Jiaotong University since 2002. His current research interests are femtosecond laser microfabrication and Bionic Microfabrication. Dr. Chen took charge in over 30 research projects including the National Key Research and Development Program, key projects of NSFC, the National key scientific instruments and equipment development of China,863 projects, etc, and has published more than 200 peer-reviewed papers including Chem. Sco. Rew., Adv. Funct. Mater., J.Mater.Chem.A,  ACS AM&I, Adv. Mater. Interface., Soft Matter, Langmuir, JPCC, Appl. Phys. Lett., Opt. Lett, etc.

Zhi Yu    Ph. D. / Assistant Professor

    Dr. Yu's research interests focus on the fabrication of superhydrophobic surface and its application on SERS analysis. Multifunctional superhydrophobic bionic chip was then fabricated for the analysis application. Such as SERS detection chip and superhydrophobic-bionic enzyme dual-functional array chips. The as prepared chip was then used in the SERS annlysis for the detection of metal ions, toxic molecules and some disease and biomarker. Wei Xin    Ph. D. / Assistant Professor

    Dr. Xin’s current research objectives mainly focus on the design of fire-new two-dimensional heterogeneous architectures and exploration of the relevant photoelectric characteristics combined with femtosecond laser micromachining technology, which is beneficial of the further research of inter-layer carrier motion performances in two-dimensional materials and of great significance to the development of nano optoelectronic devices. Konda Srinivasa Rao   Ph. D. / Assistant Professor

     Dr. Konda Srinivasa Rao received his Ph.D. degree in physics with the supervision of Prof A. K. Chaudhary from Advanced Centre for Research in High Energy Materials (ACRHEM), School of Physics from University of Hyderabad, in Nov-2016.  Dr. Rao’s main achievements are attending the Meeting of national innovation clubs (FION-2017) on Mar 8, 2017 at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, India and winning Indian Laser Association “Best Thesis Award” in National Laser Symposium -25, held at KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, India. In his doctoral work mainly he demonstrated the thermal stability of energetic materials with UV-Visible-THz lasers using pulsed photoacoustic spectroscopy. Dr. Rao’s research interests focus on femtosecond laser-matter interactions, atoms and molecules in strong laser fields, nonlinear optics in XUV range, specially, generation and detection of XUV radiation and its applications. Sandeep Kumar Maurya    Ph.D. / Assistant Professor

    Dr. Maurya was guest Research Associate at Institute of Advance Energy, Kyoto University, Japan where he has worked on the mid-IR laser pulse interaction with polymer thin film and metal thin film. He has received his Ph.D. degree in 2014 from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India where he worked on the modulation of the nonlinear optical property of the molecule in condensed phase using femtosecond laser pulses. His research interest focuses on the nonlinear interaction of intense laser pulses with the molecule in a condensed phase. Joshya Shyamala Rajagopal   Ph.D. / Assistant Professor

    Joshya Shyamala Rajagopal did her integrated master degree in Physics from Pondicherry Central University, India. Then she moved to Indian Institute of Science Education and Research – Thiruvananthapuram, India where she did her Ph.D. on “Ultrafast and Steady State Optical Studies of Dilute Bismide Alloy: GaAs1-xBix. Her research is focused on understanding the Photoexcited carrier’s dynamics and Phonon dynamics in Semiconductors. Lei Hou    Ph.D. / Assistant Professor

    Dr. Hou was born in 1987. He obtained his PhD degree from the Huygens-Kamerlingh Onnes Laboratory at Leiden University in the Netherlands. He has been working on the optical study of single metallic nanoparticle and single molecules for several years. Research topics cover fields such as optical manipulation and spectroscopy on single metallic nanoparticles, optical study on the nano vapor bubbles around a laser-heated gold nanoparticle, single-molecule spectroscopy on fluorescent polymers, organic dyes and single DNA molecules. Pavel Redkin    Ph.D. / Assistant Professor

    Dr. Redkin was born in 1986. He graduated with M.Sc. degree from Samarkand State University (Uzbekistan, Samarkand) in 2009. As a post-graduate he was awarded STEP fellowship in Abdus Salam ICTP (Italy, Trieste) in 2010-2012. He obtained PhD degree in Uzbekistan in 2016 for the Doctor of Sciences without the preceding Candidate of Sciences degree. He has published 16 articles in major peer-reviewed journals, participated in a series of international conferences and research projects. His main interests are focused on theoretical research and computer simulation in laser physics, plasma physics and spectroscopy. His current research topics are high harmonics generation, laser ablation, formation of nanoparticles by laser radiation, atomic and molecular spectra, resonant processes, application of excitons and plasmons in nonlinear optics. Ganjaboy S. Boltaev    Ph. D. / Assistant Professor

     Dr. Ganjaboy S. Boltaev received PhD degree from Physical and Technical Institute, Tashkent, Uzbekistan. He has published seventeen papers. His research interests include the laser physics and nonlinear optics. Particularly, he will be involved in the following research: interaction of powerful laser radiation with matter; optical nonlinearities of various media including nanostructures; frequency conversion of laser radiation; high-order harmonic generation of laser radiation in laser-produced plasma plumes; formation of nanoparticles by laser ablation. Chi Vinh Ngo    Ph.D. / Assistant Professor

    Dr. Chi Vinh Ngo is current Assistant Professor in The Guo China-US Photonics Laboratory at CIOMP, Changchun and Postdoctoral Fellow Researcher in The Institute of Optics at University of Rochester, New York for Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation project. Before joining Professor Guo’s research group, Dr. Ngo was a Postdoctoral Researcher at University of Ulsan for 7 months after his Ph.D. graduation. His research interests focus on fabrication of functional nano/micro structure surfaces, especially in superhydrophobic surfaces, using laser beam machining for industry and manufacturing. M Venkatesh    Ph.D. / Assistant Professor

     Dr. M Venkatesh received his Ph.D. degree in physics with the supervision of Prof A. K. Chaudhary from Advanced Centre for Research in High Energy Materials (ACRHEM), School of Physics from University of Hyderabad, in Aug-2016.  In his doctoral work, mainly he demonstrated the enhancement in Terahertz (THz) radiation in various types of semiconducting devices, nonlinear crystals and metallic thin films, and further he utilized this radiation for time domain spectroscopy of energetic materials. In post-doctoral work at Seoul National University he accomplished THz generation of from air plasma. His main research interests focus on femtosecond laser-matter interactions, generation and detection of THz radiation from metallic plasma plume in XUV chamber, and THz time domain linear and nonlinear spectroscopy. Syed Hamad    Ph.D. / Assistant Professor

    Dr. Syed Hamad is currently an Assistant Professor in Guo's Photonics Laboratory at CIOMP. Dr. Hamad obtained his PhD degree in Physics from University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad, India in 2015. He is well versed with various experiments/modeling aspects of (a) Ultrafast laser ablation in liquids (ULAL) for generating nanoparticles and nanostructures of plasmonic metals such as Cu, Ag, Al etc. (b) Surface enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) and surface enhance fluorescence (SEF) (c) Nonlinear optical (NLO) techniques such as Z-scan, degenerate four wave mixing (DFWM) using picosecond (ps) and femtosecond (fs) pulses (d) pump-probe techniques using fs pulses. He has also modeled some of his experimental data on cavitation bubble dynamics observed during ULAL. Some of his international/national conference presentations have fetched him BEST POSTER awards recognizing the importance and excellence of his works. Dr. Hamad has more than three years of postdoctoral research experience in the field of laser-matter interaction, SERS, Transient absorption spectroscopy and High speed fluorescence imaging. He has published more than 40 research articles in refereed journals and conference proceedings. His current research is focused on the laser material processing: fabrication of hydrophilic and hydrophobic structures and, crystallization of lead free perovskites for industry applications.

Roshan Ali    Ph.D. / Assistant Professor

    Dr. Roshan Ali has obtained his MS/MPhil degree from Hazara University Mansehra Pakistan. In 2018, he obtained his PHD in the field of Computational Condensed Matter Physics from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), Beijing, China, through a well reputed scholarship (CAS-TWAS) program.  Dr. Ali’s research interest focuses on computational and theoretical investigations of photovoltaic materials, especially, Inorganic and Hybrid Organic-Inorganic Perovskite (HOIPs) Solar cell materials. During PHD, he worked on lead-free HOIPs with excellent results. HOIPs have recently been emerged as a “game changer” in the PV industry (efficiency 22.7%). Beside this, HOIPs have many other optoelectronic applications, for instance, LEDs, lasers, photodetectors, and photodiodes.

Abhishek Shukla     Ph. D. / Postdoctoral Associate

    Dr. Abhishek Shukla’s research work is related to the synthesis, characterization and applications of metal ferrite nanomaterials and got the D.Phil. degree on March, 2018 in Physics Department, University of Allahabad. In D.Phil. work, He has used four types of techniques for the synthesis of titanium and manganese ferrite nanomaterials. Furthermore, he has good command over the laser-matter processing of magnetic nanomaterials or bi/tri metallic novel nanomaterials. He has also got good hands on training with chemical routes method. These nanomaterials have been applied to magneto-opticals, plasmonics, energy storage and spintronics applications. Bo Zhao    Ph.D / Postdoctoral Associate

     Dr. Zhao received his Ph.D Degree at Institute of Modern Optics, Department of Electric Information and Optical Engineering, Nankai University in 2015. His research interests include the theoretical study on novel optical phenomena of the metallic nano-structure and the experimental study on the femtosecond micro-/nano-fabrication on metallic materials based on ultrafast surface plasmon polariton dynamic control. His research goal is to design and fabricate new functional nano-optics devices.

Vyacheslav Kim     Master / Research Assistant

     In 2006, Mr. Vyacheslav Kim graduated Master's courses in National University of Uzbekistan and received Master degree in theoretical physics. His main research interests are as follws,

1. Theory of fundamental processes in atoms and molecules exposed to an intense external laser field and various associated highly-nonlinear phenomena of strong-field laser-matter interaction physics (High harmonics generation, above threshold ionization, formation of nanoparticles by laser ablation).
2. Development of new equipment and technologies for applied (industrial application) laser physics. Including CNC based machines for laser cutting, welding, combined laser-arc welding, 3D prototyping.
3. Development of new software for experimental equipment and experimental data processing.

    Dr. Liu majored in optics and received her Phd degree from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. She is currently Administrator in The Guo China-US Photonics Laboratory and Administrator in The Scienctific Research Administration Office of CIOMP. Dr. Liu's main responsible is dealing with office affairs.

Wenting Sun   Administrative Assistant

    Ms. Sun majored in Foreign linguistics and applied linguistics(English) and received a master's degree in the year of 2015. During undergraduate study, Test for English Majors Band 8 (TEM-8) has been obtained. She worked for College of Humanities & Sciences of Northeast Normal University as an English teacher in charge of the college public English teaching for two years. Bin Wang    Ph.D. Student / Major: Optics

    Bin Wang, the Han nationality. He was born in Shuangliao city of Jilin province on December 1990. In 2012, he graduated from Changchun University of Science and Technology, and his major is the Optical Information Science and Technology. His graduation design is Study on the Relationship between Pump Frequency and Laser Output Parameters of Fiber Raman Laser. In 2013, he joined O-Net Communications Group Company. His position is the Process Engineer (PE), and mainly responsible for WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexer) product process. In 2014, he entered Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, Chinese Academy of Science, and read for Master’s and Doctor’s degree. At present, his mainly research direction is the Design, Fabrication and Testing of High Performance Nanolasers Based on Surface Plasmon Polariton. By designning the new structure of nanolaser resonant cavity and combining surface plasmon polariton with traditional photonics, we will manufacture nanolasers with excellent performance via preparation and test technology of nanomaterials. This research has a broad application prospect in the fields of Photonic Integrated Circuits, Optical Signal Processing, Optical Information Storage, Nano analysis and Short Distance Communication etc.

Yi Wu    Ph.D. Student / Major: Optics

    Yi Wu was born in Tai an in Shandong province, during 2010-2014,he was a undergraduate at the school of science in linyi university, his major was physics. In 2014, he was admitted to Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences as a PHD candidate. His major is optics. Now his work mainly focus on the design of optical crystal and the study of two dimension optical materials. Using some kind of measures to research the linear or nonlinear optical phenomenon in low dimension materials, such as linear or nonlinear optical phenomenon in graphene and other materials.

Sohail Abdul Jalil    Ph.D. Student / Major: Optical Engineering

    Sohail Abdul Jalil has received his M.Phil in Physics (laser-matter interaction) from GCU Lahore in 2015.  He has joined ITU in 2016 as a Research Associate where he has been involved in experimental fabrications and simulation of metasurfaces with research collaboration of Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).  He has also been working as a research student in Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), Republic of Korea. He has seven international publications in well renowned journal. He is having significant experience in laser induced surface structuring and nano-fabrications of metasurfaces

Jun Xing    Ph.D. Student / Major: Optical Engineering

     Jun Xing, male, born in 1992 in Binzhou City, Shandong Province, is a member of the Communist Party of China. In 2011, he was admitted to Harbin Engineering University to study undergraduate course, majoring in Optoelectronic Materials and Devices. In 2015, he was admitted to the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences for postgraduate study due to excellent scores without entrance exams. He has got the chance for master to doctor, and will be transferred to doctoral students for doctoral study in September 2017. Jun Xing is interested in the synthesis, assembly, testing and application of new semiconductor materials - perovskite materials (mainly used in the preparation and development of photonic devices such as LED), and is committed to exploring the interaction between femtosecond laser and perovskite single crystal material, including the mechanism and performance improvement.

Xin Zheng    Ph.D. Student / Major: Optical Engineering

    Xin Zheng borned in 1993, Tongliao, Inner Mongolia, graduated from Shandong University, Weihai, with a Bachelor's degree of Applied Physics. In 2015 was sent to Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences on recommendation as a master student. Have obtained the qualification of successive postgraduate and doctoral programs of study and will become a doctoral student in 2017. Xin Zheng mainly focus on researching femtosecond laser micro-machining. She is devoted to the fabrication of new materials by femtosecond laser and to explore the process and mechanism of femtosecond laser-matter interaction. So far the main work is to realize the efficient preparation of metal photonic crystals by femtosecond laser, in order to provide new ideas and methods for the design, preparation and application of the metal nano photonic devices in the future.

    Chaonan Yao, female, was born in Heze City, Shandong Province in 1992. In 2011, she was admitted to College of Science in Linyi University, specializing in physics. In 2015, she was admitted to Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, learning optical professional. The main direction of her current study is to design, simulate structure of surface plasmonic waveguides and its preparation. She is committed to the development of low loss and excellent performance of the plasmonic waveguides, which has a wider range of applications in the photonic device integration, optical information storage, optical fiber communications and other fields.

     Tingting Zou, female, was born in Changchun of Jinlin province in 1993,  graduated from Changchun University of Science and Technology, with a Bachelor's degree of Optical Information Science and Technology. The main direction of her current study is to do the study of photoelectric detection and super-sensitive sensor based on graphene in full reflection optical mode and other fields.

    Yuting Zou, female, born in Siping city of Jinlin Province in 1993, is a member of the Communist Party of China. The main direction of her current study is to explore the efficient method of preparing quantum dots, which is a kind of new nanomaterial applied in solar battery and other field such as various photoelectric detector, photosensitive diode and so on. Ke Zhang    Master Student / Major: Optics

    Ke Zhang, born in May 4 in 1993, a master student after graduation of Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology,college of science, will work in CIOMP with Nonlinear Optics group. His topics of studies will be the nonlinear optical properties of various 2D films, new materials, and small-sized species (nanoparticles, clusters, and quantum dots) as well as the studies of the high-order nonlinearities of laser-produced plasmas. He will also participate in construction of vacuum chambers for laser ablation and extreme ultraviolet spectrometer, as well as the characterization of the coherent and incoherent sources of ultrashort extreme ultraviolet pulses. The laser ablation of materials and spectroscopy of plasma plumes will be his areas of studies during following years as well.

Yue Fu    Ph.D. Student / Major: Condensed State Physics

    Yue Fu, female, was born in Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province in 1992. In 2011, graduated from Dalian Nationalities University and majored in optoelectronics. In 2015, she was added to Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, Chinese Academy of Science University, learning condensed state physics. Yue Fu mainly focus on researching organic-inorganic perovskite photodetector. She is devoted to the preparation of perovskite material and fabrication of vertical photodetector. The further main work is to measure nonlinear response of  lager nonaparticals, clusters and quantum dots via z-scan method which has a wide range of investigations for semiconductors, fullerenes, dyes, metal and crystal in various spectral regions.

     Ye Wang, female, was born in Songyuan City, Jilin Province in 1993, graduated from South China University of Technology, majoring in Information Display and Opto-Electronic Technology. In 2015, she was admitted to Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The main direction of her current study is to utilize femtosecond laser to process the flexible substrate, and fabricate photodetector based on 2D materials, which is critical for a variety of industrial and scientific applications, including optical communications, environmental monitoring and chemical/biological sensing.

Chunqi Jin  Ph.D. student / Major: Optical Engineering 

    Chunqi Jin, female, born in Changchun city of Jilin Province in 1992, got Bachelor’s Degree at Optical Engineering College of Changchun University of Science and Technology in 2014.  studied at CIOMP as a master student from 2014, then she was recommended for Ph.D candidate at CIOMP in 2016. She joined the joint doctoral promotion program of Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and the Chinese Academy of Science (CAS) as a Ph.D and studied in the Institute of Applied Physics, Abbe Center of Photonics, Friedrich Schiller University Jena, Germany for one year, studied at Nanooptics group and researched on ‘Nanostructured optical elements for three-dimensional imaging’. At present, her mainly research direction is about the 3D imaging based on the plasmonic metasurface, including the reconstruction algorithm of 3D objects, the design and fabrication of plasmonic metasurface.

    Hongmei Geng, female, was born in Cangzhou city of Hebei Province in 1993. In 2012, she was admitted to Jilin University, majoring in semiconductor chemistry. In 2016, she was admitted to Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, Chinese Academy of Science, learning in condensed state physics as a Master student. Now, she is mainly engaged in the fabrication of biosensors and biomolecular logic devices based on micronano materials.By synthesizing multifunctional micro-nanomaterials and applying them to many fields.

    Jingguang Liang, male, born in Yantai city of Shandong Province in 1992, he was a undergraduate at the College of Physics of Ludong University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree of Physics in 2015. In 2016, he was admitted to Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, learning optical professional as a master student, and he have passed the successive postgraduate and doctoral programs of study and will become a doctoral student in 2018.     Zhen Zhao, was born in Zaozhaung City, Shandong Province in 1995. In 2013 he was admitted to College of Science in Ludong University and major was physics. In 2017, he was admitted to Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, Chinese Academy of  Sciences, learning optical professional. The direction of research is producing and erasing of periodic microstructures on material surface by two beams of femtosecond laser. He try to find the actually mechanism of  phenomenon. His investigations can be helpful to the deeper understanding of the interaction of femtosecond laser and materials. Besides, his study provide new ideas for effective controlling formation and erasing of periodic structures on material surfaces.

     Yuhao Lei was born in Yan’an, Shaanxi Province in 1993. He graduated from Sichuan University with a Bachelor’s degree of Optical Information Science and Technology. In 2015, he was admitted to the Institute of Modern Optics, College of Electric Information and Optical Engineering, Nankai University to pursue a master degree of optical engineering. His researches are focusing on the femtosecond laser-matter interactions, including femtosecond laser technology, ultrafast process probe, and high-precision ablation of materials. Yuhao Lei is interesting in the numerical simulation of two temperature model, fabrication of uniform femtosecond laser induced periodic surface structure (LIPSS) on different materials, the surface erasing phenomenon on amorphous material.

     Bo Lai, born in 1990, is currently a graduate student at University of Rochester, major in alternative energy. He is currently working with Doctor Singh on dye sensitized solar cells (DSSC). Gyanendra Yadav    2018 Summer Intern

     Gyanendra was awarded INSPIRE fellowship in 2011 to join IISER Mohali for his BS-MS dual degree. He did his master thesis in “Generation of Orbital Angular Momentum of Light and its application in Optofluidics”. He worked on modulating the light beam and observed enhancement in light matter interaction experimentally. He received his post graduate degree in May 2016. He was awarded DST-MPG fellowship to pursue a research project at Femto Second laser lab at IISER Mohali in September 2016. He presented a poster titled “Multipoint Scanning Liquid Drop Interferometer” at ‘PHOTONICS’ conference, organized by OSA. In this conference paper he devised a method to detect fluid drop dynamics at multiple points simultaneously by using a single laser shot.

     Anuradha Rout, completed her Masters in Physics in 2018, GITAM University, Vishakhapatnam, India. She has done master project in Advanced Centre for Research in High Energy Materials (ACRHEM), School of Physics, University of Hyderabad.  Her master thesis was titled as “SERS and NLO activity of ultrafast laser ablated silver nanowires”.       Rahul A. R, born in Kerala, India in 1993. He completed his masters in electronics science in 2016, from Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Kerala, India. Sandeep Chamoli    2018 Summer Intern

     Sandeep Chamoli completed his Master’s in Physics (M.Sc.) in 2014 with specialization in Electronics and Laser physics. During M.Sc. he did his thesis work on experimental study of KTP optical parametric oscillator at DRDO, Dehradun. After getting good score in GATE – 2015, he got opportunity to pursue Master’s in Technology (M.Tech.) from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR). During M.Tech. he prepared his thesis work on studies on liquid crystal based optical waveguides and its sensing application. After submission of his M.Tech. thesis he worked in DRDO as an intern on fabrication and simulation of lithium niobate based rib waveguide from June 2018 - Aug 2018. From Oct 2017 to June 2018 he worked as research assistant at Monash University Malaysia Campus on Single pixel imaging and laser sensing.

    Muhammad  Asad, completed BS Physics from UOS, Sargodha, Pakistan in 2015 and received MS-Thermal Energy Engineering from NUST, Islamabad. Pakistan 2018. He was scholarship grantee at USPCAS-E for his MS studies. He did his thesis on ''Protective and Highly Reflective Multilayer Thin Films for Solar Thermal Reflectors''. He presented his work on on the multilayer thin films for solar concentrators in an international conference on nano-composites and multifunctional materials held at SNS  21-23 August 2017 Nust Islamabad. He also has a conference publication in IEEE xplore where he showed how efficient reflectors can save the overall cost of a solar thermal power plant. Other than the studies he likes travelling and hiking. Now he is working with Mohamed Al kabbesh (University of Rochester) in Prof Subhash group, on metamaterials to investigate their Non-linear refractive index properties.

Monika Yadav    2018 Summer Intern

     Monika joined Miranda House, Delhi University for her undergraduate studies in 2011. She graduated in 2014 with Physics Hons. For her post graduate studies she joined MNIT, Jaipur and graduated in 2016 with her Master’s degree in Applied Physics. She did a summer internship at ARIES, Nainital studying different cosmological models. She used IRAF software for data analysis. After this she joined IISER Mohali for one year DST-MPG (Govt. of India and Max Planck Society) funded research project. Her master thesis was titled as "Laser Driven Forces and Electron Acceleration in Plasma". She numerically simulated the capability of plasma medium as a particle accelerator. During her research project at IISER Mohali, she worked on light matter interaction.

    Wanlin He, male, was born in Wuwei City, Gansu Province. In 2014, he was admitted to the Institute of Modern Optics, College of Electric Information and Optical Engineering, Nankai University to pursue a doctor degree of optical engineering. His research area is femtosecond laser micro/nano-machining. Currently, he is interested in the fabrication of laser induced periodic surface structures (LIPSS) on semiconductor material.     Cong Cong, born in 1996 in Beijing, an undergraduate student major in Optics and Optical Engineering, studying in University of Science and Technology of China, will work in CIOMP as an intern student during summer in 2017. He is interested in simulation and has participated in two research projects in his school and Chinese Academy of Science during his second year in University, on the optical tweezers, which is also his main research interest. In his junior year, he precipitated in two extra works besides his routine work in his group. One is a research with Computational Physics background named ‘Simulation of Competition in Temary Gray Scott model’, and it is in the process of applying publication. The other one is ‘Methods about Imaging though Opaque Scattering Layers and Simulation’, under supervise from his Modern Optics Basis teacher.     Sofia Charlotte Maurina, born in Milan, Italy, in 1994. An Engineering undergraduate student, from the Politecnico di Milano, majoring in Physics, mostly in laser and nanotechnologie studies.     Dexin Pan,male,born in in Shenyang, Liaoning province in 1996, is now a junior at College of Optical Science and Engineering from Zhejiang University(ZJU), will work as an intern student in CIOMP during summer in 2017. He is interested in optical material and has do some basic work about the properties of optical metamaterial in SIOM and is going to do research about the organic and inorganic hybrid perovskites in CIOMP. He also has interests in traditional optical science and had participated in two major research in ZJU about the measurement of accelerated velocity based on super-heterodyne interferometry and a conceptual optical design of a spacecraft payload to achieve flash photography.

Haotian Yu    2017 Summer Intern

    Haotian Yu, born in 1995, is now a junior at College of Optical Science and Engineering from Zhejiang University, will work as an intern student in CIOMP during summer in 2017. He is interested in the optical material. He is going to do research about preparation of perovskite and detection of physicochemical properties of perovskite. He also interests in the research of visual auxiliary equipment. He has built a teaching situation detection system which based on image recognition and Fast RCNN. The system has at least 90% accuracy in rigorous practical testing. Moreover, he can program by using OPENCV3 with either VS15 or Python3 and do some simple design in both CodeV and Solidworks.
